Introducing Ask AJ: A Leadership & Organizational Advice Column for STEM Professionals

This week I've been thinking a lot about things that I'm nerdy about.

Part of the list, in case you were wondering:

  • Sewing - I make a lot of my own clothes and some for the kids!

  • Leadership - I love to learn and teach about leadership, in many contexts.

  • Reading - I'm always reading something, and yesterday I spent 30 minutes marking pages for a tandem read of Sarah J Maas's Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn 🤓

Two THICK books sitting on top of each other, with a pair of reading glasses, a pen, and some sticky note flags on top of them. The books each have 10 flags sticking out to mark the spots to switch between them, so they can be read as one huge book.
That is one GIANT book when you read both as one..

And something else I really enjoy... is advice columns.

Maybe I'm not quite nerdy about them, but I've always loved the idea of someone writing in to a trusted expert in a topic and having them reply in a public way.

The questions are often super relatable and give us a chance to learn even if we didn't have the guts or think to ask ourselves.

So I decided to do the thing this year! I'm going to dedicate one email to my list per month to an Ask AJ STEM Leadership Advice Column format - a way to share my nerdiness about STEM leadership via answering direct questions from y'all.

I'll post it here too, but if you want to make sure to see it, make sure to join my email list.

Submit leadership, career development, or organizational questions you'd like answered via this Google form!

First email comes out this Friday!
