Our Mission
At Thriving Ibis Leadership Solutions we believe that when science and technology leaders are performing at their very best, we all benefit.
Our mission is to provide leadership development services that enable these leaders to build skills, networks, and mindsets to not just survive in their roles, but to thrive.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Working toward a world that provides equity in experience for all and embraces diversity of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, and any other identity characteristics is a central goal for Thriving Ibis Leadership Solutions.
Dr. Lauer has 20 years of experience working in the DEI space and pledges to show that commitment in the management of Thriving Ibis in tangible ways including but not limited to:

-
Creating a space that is as inclusive for all people as possible in every workshop and one-on-one meeting by using best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) facilitation.
-
Dedicating time to continuing education on DEI topics. Materials for education will be purchased from independent and/or minority-owned businesses wherever possible.
-
Contracting with minority-owned vendors for business services whenever possible.
-
Recognizing that climate change disproportionately impacts women and people of color negatively, we pledge to minimize our impact on the environment. This includes limiting business travel to absolutely necessary trips, conducting business in a near-paperless fashion, and ensuring investments do not support the fossil fuel industry.
-
Referring clients to minority-owned businesses first if/when we are unable to take on a contract.
-
Combatting the manel (conference panels consisting of only men). When invited to speak at conferences and/or events we will inquire into the diversity of the other speakers. We may decline the invitation and/or recommend someone with underrepresented identities be paid to speak in our stead, or as an addition to the speaker lineup.
As residents of Boulder County, Colorado, we acknowledge that we live, learn, are raising our families, and run our businesses on the traditional lands and waters of the Tséstho’e (Cheyenne), hinono’eino’ biito’owu’ (Arapaho), and Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱ (Ute) peoples.
Colorado's Front Range is a contemporary and traditional site of trade and gathering for many Indigenous peoples. Our relationship to this place is one of deep, daily connection, and our commitment to stewardship—through supporting Indigenous-led initiatives, teaching our children to love this land, and taking direct action to care for it such as conducting regular litter cleanup—honors that connection.
We do our utmost to ensure that our ongoing care for these lands and waters continue to be guided by respect and a spirit of reciprocity with the original peoples of this place.
